The best week of the young 2021-22 EuroLeague season for Anadolu Efes ended in triumphant fashion.

Efes led from wire-to-wire, defeating AS Monaco 98-77 in Round 11 at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall for their third win in eight days. The victory improved the defending EL Champions to 5-6 on the season and pushed them to 10th in the EuroLeague standings.

Shane Larkin was one of five Efes scorers in double figures, tallying 14 points on 5-of-8 from the field, as part of a balanced scoring effort. All 10 players who touched the floor scored at least four points, led by 17 from Roddy Beaubois. Shane also tallied four assists, three steals and three rebounds in the victorious effort.

The home team jumped out to an early lead on the back of big man Tibor Pleiss, who terrorized AS Monaco on the interior with 10 first-quarter points. In the second quarter, Efes used a 13-3 run to create some distance between themselves and Monaco. They ended up outscoring the visitors by 14 points in the second frame and took an 18-point lead in at the break. Monaco clawed back within six in the early stages of the third, but Efes kept them at arms length and had an answer each time Monaco got back within six, eventually pulling away to seal a 21-point win.

Efes heads back out on the road next week for Round 12, but they won’t have to travel far as they make the short trip across the Sea of Marmara to take on Fenerbahçe at Ulker Sports and Event Hall. Tip-off is slated for 8:45 p.m. local time.
