An MVP level performance from Shane Larkin helped Anadolu Efes rally from an early deficit to secure their third straight win.
Efes fell behind big in Thursday’s match with Olympiacos, trailing by 15 after one. But a blistering second quarter saw the Turkish home team score 32 points while limiting the visiting Greek squad to just eight. Efes kept up the defense from there, outscoring Olympiacos by a score of 33-19 in the second half on the way to a 76-53 win.
Shane was a big part of the victorious effort, scoring 21 points on 6-of-12 from the field. He also had five assists, five rebounds and three steals, his fourth straight match with three steals. As a result, he was named MVP of the match.
Efes has now won six of his last seven games to move to 14-10 for the season. They sit just a half game back of the fourth spot in the standings. However four teams sit above them for that spot, including a trio at 15-10. One of those teams presents Efes’ next challenge. They’ll take on Fenerbahce on Friday at Ulker Sports and Event Hall in Istanbul. Tip-off is slated for 12:45 p.m. ET.
