Mission accomplished: Turkey has qualified for the 2022 EuroBasket tournament.

The Turkish National Team made their entry official with two results on Saturday.

First Turkey defeated Sweden 88-80 in group play. Then later, the Netherlands dropped Croatia to book both the Turkish and the Dutch teams their spots in the 2022 tournament, which will be played across Europe in the summer of 2022.

Turkey’s win over Sweden marked their second straight in group play, the start of that streak dating back to November 2020, when they defeated the Netherlands 73-71 for their first win in four games of group play. Shane was strong in that game, with 23 points, including some clutch ones down the stretch, and nine assists. He was a factor again on Saturday, scoring nine points with seven assists and two steals. Turkey is now 2-1 since Shane joined the National Team, their only loss coming to Croatia in November in his debut game.

Turkey concludes group play on Monday when they play against Croatia looking to avenge that November defeat. Tip-off is slated for 12 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on ESPN+.
